Dear Rising Hope for Aging Project Supporter,
Thank you so much for your support for our Rising Hope for Aging Project. We are so delighted to invite you to our “Project Celebration” on December 1 from 4:30-7:15 pm at the Golden Tower Resident Activity Center (Golden Tower, 50 E. 11th Street, Covington, KY 41011). Our NKU Social Work Students took this great opportunity to serve, respond to the needs of residents of Golden Tower, and raise awareness about the breadth of geriatric social work practice and increase the numbers of NKU social work students engaging in age-related support services in the Northern Kentucky area.
Our first Gerontology Social Work class students (fall 2016) have developed the Golden Tower library, provided medical equipment, helped with social/enrichment activities and provided support groups and professional sign language services, invited various guest speakers, played music instruments-including singing and dancing, donated meals for dinner/raffles and numerous items (e.g., books, book case, CDs (150+)), NKU campus-wide baked cookie sales, and so much more during this semester. Here is the response from the Golden Tower director, Chris Bradburn, “That's the best resident participation rate yet!”
The Elderly Service Program Coordinator from Golden Tower, Allura Eckert, also said “What a great event last afternoon/night! It's so wonderful to see the Golden Tower residents enjoy themselves as much as they did last night! I was pleasantly surprised to see new faces and engaging conversation with the speakers. All of the residents really loved the meal, games and music too! It's only 10:00am and I've had 5 calls and 2 walk ins telling me what a great event it was!”
We are thrilled with the results from the project and look forward to continue supporting our student learning and engaging with NKY community.
Because of you and your support, we made a difference in our NKY community!
YPlease join us for the Project Celebration on Dec. 1. And please check back after the celebration to see our project's final photo album, newsletter, and video production.
Rising Hope for Aging Project-SWK 594 Gerontology Class (fall 2016)
Thank you so much for your support! Together, we raised $1,000 to help our students bring important services to the residents of Golden Tower.
If you or anyone you know would still like to support our work and the Social Work students at NKU, please visit give.nku.edu/coehs or call Lori Cox at 859-572-7530.
We are so close to our goal of raising $1,000. We only need $395, but we have only 2 days to do it.
Please take just a minute to share our fundraiser on social media, by email or even with a quick phone call. The more we raise, the more great work our students can do to help the aging population in Northern Kentucky.
Thank you!

Greetings!
We've raised $535 and are more than halfway to our goal! We couldn't have done it without you - thank you!
By supporting our project, your contribution is two-fold: You help the aging in our community and you support increased preparedness and excellence for tomorrow's caretakers and advocates.
We have on 8 days left to get to $1,000. Please continue to spread the word of our fundraiser to your family and friends.
Thank you!
