Impact NKU is Norse Nation’s online crowdfunding program that makes it easy for faculty, staff and students to raise funds to support projects and programs at Northern Kentucky University. 

How does it work?

There are so many great things happening at NKU all the time. The reality is that many of those things require philanthropic support to keep them going - or to get them started. Impact NKU projects provide an online platform to spread the word to friends, family, coworkers and all those in your social networks. 

What kind of things can I raise money for?

Projects must support a specific need at NKU that directly impacts students and the University's mission. All projects must be associated with a college or department on campus that has an NKU Foundation account. 

How much money can I raise?

Fundraising goals stay within a modest fundraising range of $1,000-$2,500. Goals are determined by various factors, including the scope of your social network. 

To host a project, project leaders must: 

• Be associated with a college or department that has an NKU Foundation account
• Write and develop all content for the project’s Impact NKU page
• Commit to all communication and fundraising responsibilities during the 30-day project and to donor stewardship responsibilities within 15 days after the project ends
• Have at least five Ambassadors who will commit to communication and fundraising during the project 

All project leaders must complete an initial planning meeting with Annual Giving staff and projects must be approved by their college or department and University Advancement leadership.

How do I get started?

If you are an NKU student, faculty or staff member and are interested in hosting an Impact NKU project, please fill out the project application. Projects are hosted during the following times: 

• April-May
• June
• September
