Hello everyone!
Who We Are & What We Are Doing
We are students at NKU working on our bachelor's degree in social work and fundraising for the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati refugee community through our local organization, RefugeeConnect.
How the Funds Will Be Used
All funds are going to RefugeeConnect's Community Building Events for refugee families. The events may include a trip to the zoo, the Festival of Lights, fall festivals at the farm, and sporting events for families to enjoy. Our campaign funds will be used to pay for costs associated with the events, such as supplies and transportation. These events allow refugee families to leave their homes and meet other refugees who are in similar situations and Americans who could be their new friends. The event participants can also obtain information and resources for adjusting to life in our region.
Why We Care (and You Should, Too)
Refugees are people who had to flee their home countries due to dangerous situations such as war, persecution, and natural disasters. RefugeeConnect helps refugees integrate into our communities as productive members. They help enrich our region and deepen our understanding and appreciation of diversity. Refugees didn't choose to be born into countries where it is deemed unsafe to live; they, too, deserve to have a better life, a happy one. So, we are asking you to donate today!
We thank each of you for supporting our cause and helping refugee families in the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati region!
