Exciting news! We recently launched Invest in UCAP Access: Chapter Two, a campaign to raise $2,000 for textbooks and access codes for the Lending Library.
This summer, we are on a mission to add more materials and resources to our Lending Library to prepare for an in-person return to campus. Your gift to Invest in UCAP Access: Chapter Two means a student won't have to choose between required class materials and essentials such as food or gas.
Will you join us again this year? Visit our new project page to make your best gift today. THANK YOU!
Hello everyone! We have 3 days left for our UCAP Lending Library Impact Campaign. Time is running out! We have already raised $2,763, and that gives UCAP the ability to purchase 27 new books, which will continue to give students financial relief for years to come. Or we could offer 27 students access codes that they could otherwise not afford. Getting access codes early makes for academic success! This money is going to make an impact!
This semester, over 42% of our students reported needing access codes for at least two of their classes. If we raise the additional $2,237 we are hoping for, we can help 22 more students with access codes. Access codes are the newest academic innovation and UCAP wants to be able to help students with this vital academic resource.
Hello all!
Thank you so much for your continued support of the UCAP Lending Library. We are excited to see more donations coming in, including a significant contribution from the NKU Parents Association. The NKU Parents Advisory Board hosted a silent auction during the Homecoming game that raised over $900! The NKU Parents Association has been a huge supporter of UCAP in the past and we are so grateful for all the work they put into this recent fundraiser.
Please continue to share our campaign with others. We only have a week left and would love to reach our goal of $5,000.
A gift to this campaign is a gift that will continue to give. When we purchase a book for our Lending Library, that book doesn't just help one student. It helps multiple students for semesters and years to come.
Thank you so much,
Keysha Alston
Hello everyone! We're so excited about the funds we have raised so far! Because of donors like you, we will be able to assist in providing financial and academic resources to NKU students.
The UCAP Staff see every day how the Lending Library makes an impact. I met with a student last week who still did not have two of her textbooks and identified how the costs for both would be about $250. I looked through our collection and we had both! We completed a contract and the student identified feeling relief at being able to fully delve into her coursework.
Here is how the UCAP Lending Library has helped others:
“I was able to rent (for free) a textbook that would have cost me $80 elsewhere! That’s nearly a week’s worth of meals for me!”
“It saved me from having to buy a $200 textbook.”
“The money I saved I used to help get my meal plan.”
“I was worried about having to buy books that I was not going to be able to afford. And I feared I would have to choose between which to buy and which to go without.”
If you have already donated, thank you so much! Please continue to share our story with others and help us reach our goal!
With gratitude,
Keysha Alston
