The NKU UCAP Lending Library has continued to support students through the pandemic and is now providing access codes directly to students in need. This summer, we want to revamp our UCAP Lending Library for an in-person return to campus, ready to serve more students than ever. And we need your help!
Raising $2,000 will allow UCAP to purchase up to 16 new textbooks, which will last multiple semesters into the future.
The average student will spend over $836 in textbooks in a year. Some will be forced to choose between a textbook or lif essentials such as food, gas or rent to afford this expense.
The NKU UCAP Lending Library was created so our students never need to choose between a meal or a textbook. We don't want students to jeopardize their grades because they decided to skip out on getting their textbooks because of the price.
Our UCAP Lending Library houses over 800 books and supports 300 students per semester. NKU students save thousands of dollars by borrowing books from our library. But trends in classrooms are shifting the need for not only textbooks but also access codes for online reading and homework materials. These access codes can cost upwards of $250 and are one-time use only.
Students struggle to choose how they will spend their money between living and educational expenses. Your gift helps make that decision a little easier. By supporting the UCAP Lending Library, you help us reach more students and get them one step closer to achieving their goal of a degree. THANK YOU!
A donation of more than $250 pays for the cost of multiple textbooks and/or access codes.
A donation of $500 covers the cost of a student’s book/access code needs in one semester.
A donation of $900 covers the total average cost of books for one student for an entire year.
