The nation is aware of the need to repair relationships between law enforcement and the black community. We have witnessed many incidents across the country, even situations within our area. To help create healthy neighborhoods, we must all work together to foster relationships that help keep our black community and police officers safe.
What is it about: We are a group of history students coming together to start to solve this problem in the Northern Kentucky area. Our class is associated with the Mayerson Student Philanthropy Project, which seeks to educate students through giving by being grant makers in the classroom. Over the next few weeks, we will be working together to identify potential non-profits who also hold this issue central to their mission. We will then choose 1-2 of these organizations as our community partners.
Why we need you: We are hoping to raise $1,000 to grant to our chosen community partner(s) to support a program that directly impacts the lives of Northern Kentucky families. You can join us in our quest by making a donation today!
Who benefits: The beauty of the Mayerson Student Philanthropy Program is you have the potential to make a difference in the lives of our students and local communities. While we are choosing our granting organization, we will be learning all about the black community’s historic struggle for civil rights. By donating, you will be helping us learn and helping to make Northern Kentucky a better place.
