Norse Violence Prevention

Who We Are

Norse Violence Prevention (NVP) is an office located on NKU's campus that provides free and confidential advocacy services to students who have been impacted by any form of interpersonal violence. NVP also provides awareness events and prevention education across campus; in the fall of 2022, NVP offered prevention workshops to 1,013 students.

What We Want to Do

The goal of this project is to fund a nature wellness retreat for student survivors. NVP offers an 8-week support group for student survivors of interpersonal violence each semester. This project will allow us to incorporate a wellness retreat as the culminating activity of the fall 2023 group. Funds will be used for overnight lodging, meals, transportation, and wellness activities for up to 10 students.

Why Are We Doing This?

The wellness retreat will provide a safe space for participants to build connections with other students and NVP staff. Student participants will also have an opportunity to practice coping skills they will have learned in the group sessions leading up to the retreat.

How Can You Help?

Any size donation will help us fund this project. The wellness retreat will provide a safe space for students to build out their support network and practice self-care - your gift to NVP will help us better support students toward a path to success. We hope you will contribute to our project by donating today! Thank you!
