Stego Studio: Support Our Student Makers and Innovative Thinkers

What is Stego Studio?

Stego Studio is the makerspace at Steely Library. Stego Studio offers a state-of-the-art collaborative workspace with 3D printers and scanners, a laser cutter, a Cricut cutting machine, button makers and computers. Like the library, the makerspace is unique from any other space or resource on campus. At no cost to them, students of any academic discipline are welcome to invent, create, learn new skills and explore their curiosities.

Since launching in the fall of 2021, NKU students, faculty and staff have utilized our 3D printers, laser cutter and engraver, scanners and smart cutting machine for prototyping and fabrication to support research and project-based learning. No prior makerspace knowledge or experience is necessary when entering Stego Studio. From project brainstorming to equipment tutorials, our expert makerspace staff is eager to assist NKU's budding makers every step of the way.

Over the 2021 - 2022 academic year, we saw more and more students become increasingly comfortable with our technology and create unique projects and visuals that would otherwise not be possible. We aim to keep Stego Studio a pressure-free, engaging and fun environment for students to enhance their learning and project goals.

Why do we need your help?

Through your donations, we can keep Stego Studio FREE for student use, and we can begin to expand our reach through campus via showcase spaces and traveling makerspace demonstrations.

Please consider the funding levels listed as a guide to the impact even $10 can make. No gift is too small as every donation goes towards covering the cost of equipment materials and consumables such as filament for the 3D printers and hardwoods, acrylic and leather for the laser cutter.

While only one year into operation, we have already witnessed the unlimited opportunities our space offers the NKU community. By giving, you empower us to extend our reach across campus and help more students flourish academically without adding to the financial stress of pursuing higher education.

Thank you for supporting Stego Studio!
