The Veterans Resource Station (VRS) aids and supports our veteran and military-connected students to ensure their academic success and easy transition back into civilian life.
Transitioning back to civilian life can be difficult for many:
Support services and programs that foster a sense of community are critical in making the process successful. Your gift to the Moobeam Fund will directly impact veteran and military-connected students by positively influencing their educational success, the prosperity of their families and the vitality of our region.
About the Moonbeam Fund
Within the military community, a flashlight is often referred to as a moonbeam. From writing letters home in the deep jungle of Vietnam, to special operations reading maps in Iraq or reading a book in a tent in Afghanistan, a moonbeam has always been a constant and valued source of support.
The Moonbeam Fund — just like the flashlight — is an essential source of support for NKU veteran and military-connected students. The Moonbeam Fund supports services, programs and events that help students overcome the challenges of what can otherwise be a frustrating transition process.
Contrary to popular belief, not all veterans and service members receive full tuition coverage or book stipends and often pay the difference out of pocket.
Contributing to the Moonbeam Fund will ensure future students can access the necessary resources needed to persist to graduation and empower the VRS to activate immediate solutions and provide support to veterans as they transition back to civilian life.

Will combine with other donations to build the Moonbeam fund to appropriate levels to offer grants and scholarships
Could cover the $50 graduation fee for a student or provide a one-time supplemental book grant for a student.
Could help our Active Duty service members, non-KY National Guard members and Reservists pay the remaining costs of courses not covered by the Federal Tuition Assistance (T/A). This could also support the service members who do not qualify for 100% of the GI bill to offset extra fees and costs of materials.
Could cover a semester of books for one student and help with unexpected expenses.
Could provide a semester's worth of books and materials for two students. This can also help supplement education costs not covered by Federal Tuition Assistance.
