Simply put, our "why" is our students.

An important program in the Care Closet @ NKU is the UCAP and Gown Program. This program was created through a collaboration between University Connect and Persist (UCAP) and Special Events. The idea was first explored in 2019 due to a simple student request for support in a time of need. There are many barriers to students' success, but our goal in the Care Closet @ NKU and in UCAP is to reduce those barriers and create more opportunities for students to succeed and persist to graduation. Unfortunately, often graduation requirements such as the ceremonial attire can be yet another one of those barriers to students who are experiencing financial hardship.

By donating to this fundraiser, you will have the opportunity to support student success through multiple means: clothing for professional and everyday needs, supplies that are needed to keep the closet running, and commencement attire that will help to ensure that all students can cross the graduation stage.

Misc. Care Closet @ NKU Needs

The Care Closet @ NKU is currently fully funded through donations and the support of the UCAP office. Any size donation goes towards supporting our students through programming and events, necessary supplies to keep the closet running, and specific or unique clothing requests.

By donating to this tier, your contribution will allow students to receive a cap for free, so that they can decorate it and keep as a memento of their big day!

By donating to this tier, your contribution helps ensure that every student who needs to borrow a gown has one available! We believe celebration of such an incredible achievement should be available to every graduate!

The Whole Grad Package!

By donating to this tier, your donation will provide students with the opportunity to keep and decorate a cap and tassel, as well as borrow a gown in their size, at no cost. We can't wait to watch them strut the stage in style!
