Expanding opportunities for NKU students, ISRCA was founded last year to help remove financial barriers for student engaging in research and producing creative works. Thanks to donors like you, we raised $3,000 to support NKU student fellowships, project grants and travel funds!
We still need your help! This year, we are hoping to offer even more assistance for our new scholars. Each one of these students pour their hearts into their research and creative works, but none of this will be possible without your financial support, allowing them to stay focused and provided with all the resources they need to be successful.
Why support ISRCA? Participating in research is one of the best ways to prepare students for their future careers; no matter where they succeed. Through ISRCA, students gain practical skills, build self-confidence, and develop networks that will serve them far beyond their NKU years.

Shelby. Her research analyzes how the grades of at-risk students are impacted through problem-based team learning projects in science courses, which increases student engagement and decreases lecture time. Through ISRCA, Shelby has presented at conferences and in Frankfort at Posters-at-the-Capitol.
Tobel and Brent. They worked with Dr. Scott Nutter on research about Data Manipulation for ISS-CREAM (Cosmic-Ray Energetics and Mass for the International Space Station investigation) Project using C++ and Python Object-Oriented Programs.
Dee. She carried out ethnographic fieldwork aboard Ohio River towboats in cooperation with a Kentucky-based towboat company to explore the role masculinity plays in an all-male work environment.
Matthew. He studied the issues of incivility, employee aggression, and bullying in the field of nursing. From his research he developed the course "Bullying in the Workplace: Solutions for Nursing Practice" and found that this type of education can effectively decrease incivility and increase a nurse’s comfort with holding critical conversations.

A donation of $50 could print a poster for a student presentation for our Celebration of Student Research and Creativity.
A donation of $100 could pay for registration fees for a student to attend a conference to present their research.
A donation of $250 could pay for travel to a conference for a student to present their research.
A donation of $500 could pay for supplies for a student research project.
A donation of $1,000 could fund a student's research for a summer.
